Why track tax and MOT together?
MOT and road tax are usually the first two dates an operator checks when a vehicle joins the fleet. They are also the easiest to assume are handled because both can be checked online. The risk is not finding the date once. The risk is checking it once, then forgetting it six months later.
Fleetkeep keeps both dates beside the registration, vehicle label, assigned driver or owner, documents and maintenance notes. The dashboard then sorts vehicles by what needs attention first.
How the reminders work
- 60 days: early warning, useful if a garage booking is needed.
- 30 days: planning reminder for the operator or admin inbox.
- 14 days: check the MOT is booked or the road tax renewal is planned.
- 7 days: final reminder before the date is too close to ignore.
Reminder emails can go to you and any verified reminder recipients you add, such as an office inbox, operations manager or business partner.
What to add after MOT and tax
MOT and tax come first because they are official dates. Insurance and service dates are usually held in policy documents, garage invoices or a spreadsheet, so the operator adds them. Once the record is complete, Fleetkeep can show the vehicle's next action in one queue.
